Cinema 4d vs 3ds max design

Recommended Posts

Cinema 4d is a very capable 3d Software, it also has a pluging for V Ray so you can apply what you learned already, it also give you the flexibility to work in Mac or Windows computers, the only draw back that I see is that the industry standard for Arch Viz is 3d Max. there is hundres of plugins and scripts designed specially for Arch Viz and they are all for 3D Max, it is also more compatible with other Autodesk producst such, REVIT, AutoCAD, and others.

If you have the money and will work in an Autodesk environment, I would recommend 3D Max.

If you would like to save some money , love Mac computer(this contradict the first condition lol) and don't care to look for workarounds in your workflow Cinema 4D is a great option, it also has a big community and several plugins, but they are not as big and updated like the ones fro 3D Max for Arch Viz.

if you like Motion graphics cinema 4D is the king.

If your clients or place that you work, uses Autodesk products, such REVIT, AutoCAD, Inventor and so on, I would recommend 3DsMax design, personally I don't see any difference, and the tools that are for Design only I never use them. If you think you'll do ArchViz for a while but later you'll like to move to VFX or animation then I'll go with 3DsMax, it has some FX features not available in Design, but 99% of the software is exactly the same.

Actually I do not understand why Autodesk did this separation it really does not make seance.
