Roodogg
Hi Every, simple question here. When I merge files into the scene, my usual procedure is to hit shift+T to bring up asset manager, refresh, then highlight missing bitmaps and set path. Fast and awesome. When importing Xrefs, however, you cannot do this, or pipette the geometry, so how do I set missing map paths for xref objects? I've tried configuring user paths too, no luck. Thanks in advance guys. neil poppleton
I assume you have to have the original xref file set up correctly. The xref is just referencing the original file and not able to adjust or amend the xref file.
Scott Schroeder
Fixing the original xref file comes to mind. Besides, you should do that to begin with. That way if you ever have to xref that into another file you won't have to monkey around with fixing paths again. If you use xref objects rather than xref file, you should be able to re-path missing maps from the xref in the master file as xref objects gives you a bit deeper control than xref file. But, as stated previously, this is a bad workflow.
salvador
Agree with Scott, and on top of it, I recommend a very useful script called Relink Bitmaps. You can find it here. Use it on every scene to be referenced before referencing.
Roodogg
Cheers guys, definitely I know that any xref files should have their paths in tact, but I was just after a way of doing it without having to close and open scenes - basically seems a bit weird that asset manager can see the bitmaps it needs, but won't let you browse for them. Cheers for the link Salvador
