Krisztian Gulyas
So the camera is outside, in the garden, looking inside the bedroom. What would be the best approach to make the bedroom bright enough without making the outside too bright? Last time I tried using an HDR map as lighting, but it didn't look good enough so I rendered out the whole scene 3 times and created an HDR image in photoshop, but that's not very time-efficient. Is AO a good approach, or are there some better ways to do it (that produces better quality)? Is it worth using brute force? Thank you!
RyderSK
I rendered out the whole scene 3 times and created an HDR image in photoshop Quite funky way to go around it. If you save un-clampped 32bit linear .exr, you can do HDR tonemapping directly from that image, as it contains infinite EVs.
Krisztian Gulyas
Well, it's good to know . Though I read about saving as .exr, but I got so used to saving the image as a PNG file automatically, I totally forgot that there are other file types.
