philvanderloo
Is it just me or is max 2015 buggier than hell?
Matt McDonald
The newest version of Max is typically buggy. I usually wait to upgrade until two or three SPs are out. You can also keep an eye on the Area SP announcements, the comments section will give you a good idea if the release is buggy as well as CGTalk. Scott Schroeder
I've heard it has problems. The new Max dev team didn't have much time to fully work on 2015 so I'm waiting it out until 2016 or much later in the year to let patches and hotfixes work their way out as well as full plug-in support. Lesson #1. Don't immediately jump to a new version of anything just because it came out. Wait a bit or wait until a lull in your production cycle to make the switch. But above all, test it out first before you commit to implementing a new software version. Testing it on paying jobs is pretty expensive if things explode on you. What issues are you experiencing? I tested it out and it was pretty dang stable. My big gripe was that quad chamfer wasn't fully implemented, it does some dumb things, and the nested layers felt half-done as well. So the 2 things I was excited about are not finished hahah. Guess I will have to wait a little longer until they get patched.
