javierseger
I am rendering a wooden table, but can't seem to get rid of some noise in the image. I identify that the noise comes from VraySpecular pass. Can anyone tell me what parameter do I need to modify to get a cleaner image? I increased the subdivs in the reflection of the material and VrayReflection pass comes pretty clean, while the specular still has noise. Thanks. numerobis
Are the shadows noisefree? You could try if increasing the subdivs of the lights helps to improve the speculars.
javierseger
The shadows have some noise, but those aren't as noticeable. I'll give it a try increasing the subdivs of the shadows. It's just that I didn't know to which parameter the specular noise was linked to.
Ismael
A bit on the subject of specular: http://forums.cgarchitect.com/74678-vray-light-affect-specular-vs-affect-reflections.html ********* "A note about Speculars: The quality of specular highlights in your scene are also controlled by your Lights Subdivs value. As a general rule of thumb, once the shadows of a light are free of noise, the specular highlight for that light should also be free of noise. But for now we wont be able to tell since we currently have Reflections/Refractions (which Specular Highlights are a part of) globally disabled for this stage of the optimization process. So later on when wrapping up the optimization process if you notice any noisy specular highlights in the Specular render element, increasing the light's Subdivs value is how to fix it."
