P.R.S. Sivakumar .
Hello everybody Can somebody please tell me if there are any serious CAD software and modelling/rendering software (Freewares ofcourse) for Linux? I have started switching over to OpenSource softwares for other applications - OpenOffice instead of MS Office etc. Software costs here in India are getting terribly expensive - no idea how I am going to keep uptodate! Any suggestions will be of great help. Thanks in advance. PRSS
Wojciech Klepacki
Hi, I use a Linux Mandrake on my old PII266 but only for WWW, emails and some text procesing. I find Open Office very useful. But if u would like to use some cad software please look at: http://www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/webpage?webpage_id=cad-linux http://www.linuxcad.com/ http://www.cycas.de/ http://www.ribbonsoft.com/qcad.html http://www.blender3d.com/ http://www.softimage.com/products/ Some of them are free the other are not. Hope it helps. rgds, Wojciech Klepacki
