nichlasudengaard
I actually made this thread, only because of that I obviously can't post on my own thread:( --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Again, I know that I can be pretty terisome... But I have done a quick try on the challenge, but why is the water reflecting the sand(plane)....?it looks pretty stupid:( http://s29.postimg.org/iemwbjsx3/reflect.jpg Thanks Regards, Nichlas -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
nitz3D
Hey Nichlas, I assume you using a plane object for the water surface. Try giving it a thickness with shell or making a new water object using a box. Reflection and Refraction works best with thickness in the object. Hope this will help you.. Ismael
"But I have done a quick try on the challenge, but why is the water reflecting the sand(plane)....?it looks pretty stupid" Do you think that the water surface does not reflect? Not true. Google this: does the water surface reflect objects under it? http://fineartamerica.com/featured/u...-jt-lewis.html http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fi...tion,_Anna.jpg http://www.uwphotographyguide.com/un...hy-reflections http://www.phy.ntnu.edu.tw/ntnujava/...hp?topic=378.0 Google this: ocean floor water surface reflect http://www.123rf.com/photo_7899163_r...a-bareka-.html http://unitedstatesofpsychedelica.tu...ple-pattern-by http://flightrising.com/main.php?boa...id=984526&p=mb http://samisarkis.photoshelter.com/g...000eLceWQj787A
Corey Beaulieu
These guys are right. It's going to happen. If you want to cheat this and make the water see through at the depth you are looking at it from, you will want to both reduce the Fresnel and Increase the Refrection. You can try ticking the reflect on backside box and use and HDRI which will make the plane equally as solid looking, but potentially give the water a different object to reflect. Maybe. Ismael
check out snells window https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snell's_window there is a thread on chaosgroup about this and rendering underwater scenes in vray Nice tip. I will be trying the 'bubble' tonight since I have been playing with a pool and the 3drender "Under The Boardwalk" challenge scene.
Ismael
First bubble try: Used a very cloudy sky map (free from Peter Guthrie) It rendered faster also, very nice start I think.
