Chris MacDonald
Hey guys/girls, I've imported some (originally fbx) geometry from another max file into a new file so that I could grab some materials from it, but now no matter what I do I can't get rid of it. I feel like I'm going mental. The geometry shows up as "linked geometry" when selected, but I have no files linked in any of the 2references" options. I have tried creating a box primitive and attaching the offending geometry to it, then deleting it - but this seems to create & delete a set of duplicate geometry rather than getting rid of the original. Pulling my hair out here trying to work out why it won't delete. 2
Chris MacDonald
I've resorted to simply exporting what I do want from my file into a new one. Not ideal, but seems to have done the job. 1
RyderSK
Hi Chris, I use the cleaner script for linked geometry, so far worked, not sure if it does some additional step to remove them. Sometimes it breaks havoc in scene though for some reason... Damn CAD files.
Chris MacDonald
Cheers Juraj, I do have the script & didn't think to use it. Shall give it a go next time.
RyderSK
I am bit sad it's not updated past 2012. It works well, but I am not sure it works for everything (like notetracks). Still one of the best scrips I use (Plus Relink and VMC).
Mohammad Sajjad Amrollahi Beyuki
tap x write manage links in second tab you'll find you're linked files (mine was an AutoCad file) then delete it!
