renzobenincasa
Hello cgarchitect-community! My name is Renzo, i'm from germany and quite new to the whole cg scene. So it might be that i can't follow all that "in-depth-talk" and have to ask here and there Also my english isn't the best:) Beeing a civil-engineer who has always been interested in the possibilities and aesthetics of todays cg i first started learning some Sketchup a year ago. Pretty soon i was amazed and wanted to learn more. Now i'm having some beginner skills in cinema 4d and 3ds max (still can't really decide between those two:rolleyes:) Currently i'm working for a small company that is planing and visualizing stores and exhibitions and maybe wants to offer some architectural or product visualization in the future. Till now it all is pretty basic and not "high-end" in any means. However i was asked to build a new PC config that is able for some more serious rendering (gpu and cpu cause i don't wanna be restricted to just one renderer) My suggested setup looks like this: Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 RAM: TeamGroup Vulcan Series gold DIMM Kit 32GB, DDR3-2133 CPU: Intel Core i7-4930K, 6x 3.40GHz, boxed CPU-Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 SSD: Samsung SSD 850 PRO 256GB HDD: 1000GB Seagate Desktop SSHD ST1000DX001 64MB 3.5" GPU: 3072MB Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 WindForce 3X OC Rev. 2.0 PSU: be quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 550W ATX 2.31 What do you think about that setup? I'm open to any suggestions:) Does upgrading the GTX 780 to GTX 780Ti come with a high impact on render times or is the gtx 780 the best bang for the buck? Or is even a GTX 770 with 4gb the better option? I'm very curious for your replies and thank you for your time! Renzo
