Alpenshiva
Hi there! I am using win8 64, 3DS Max Design 2014 SP5. When I have a couple of objects in the scene, after zooming or using 3dconnexion mouse, I cannot select an object. Wheter when picking or crossing. I then have to select all objects, deselect them and choose the one I actually want to pick. When changing the view, most of the time the same things happen. I tried changing the display drivers, but nothing really helps. Graphics driver and 3D connexion driver are up to date. This is annoying. Has someone been facing same problems? Tank you, Alpenshiva

Monokolor
It's not a mouse but a latest driver, I delete all 3dconnexion folder after uninstalling latest driver. After this i download the archived driver 10.0.22, problem gone, everything works perfect...
Francisco Penaloza
By experience, most of the selection problem within 3D Max are video driver related or external devices such tablets 3d mouses etc. Using the "latest" drivers is not always recommended, as rule of thumb you can go to Autodesk website and search for certified drivers for your version of 3D Max this drivers are proved to be compatible with the software. For input devices maybe forums are the best choice to look for compatible drivers. I use a wacom tablet and I still using the original drivers, every time I do an update I get error in different softwares. my two cents.
tonybishop
that is the problem nowadays the lastest drivers are meant to help and sometimes they always cause problems!
Alpenshiva
At this time last year when I started the post, I also contacted the support of 3D connexion. They could not help. I am facing the problem only on my WIN8.1 computer. WIN7 works fine. Both computers have same 3DS Max 2014 and same 3dconnexion drivers. They have different graphic cards (nvidia). I suppose its the OS.
