craigmonroe1
Can someone point me int he direction of a good portfolio template or service? I'm looking for something... - Free/Cheap - Simple design - mobile friendly - Not a "blog" and instead a gallery style approach where thumbnail leads to hi-res - Can display large images 1280x720-1920x1080 - Make my resume easy to view and/or download
Corey Beaulieu
It isn't free, but I'd look into SquareSpace. Great Web templates that are mobile friendly. Do some searching and you will find a discount too. As to the cost. It's like $8 a month. Like I said, not free, but manageable.
notamondayfan
Wordpress. Buy a theme (10,000s to choose from), a lot also include model versions, and they are customisable. I use a web guy to make small tweaks to mine when needed.
heni30
Yep, Wordpress. They have 2 versions - free and paid. The free version has less template options and your website address will have the word "Wordpress" attached. Takes a little time to get the hang of it but if you figured out Vray you can figure anything out. Here's something I put together for free - didn't take that long. Need to smooth out the rough edges: http://si3d.wordpress.com/
notamondayfan
Well you can still use wordpress for free, without the wordpress.com part, but you need your own domain and hosting, and from inside your website control panel you can install wordpress. You can then use free or paid themes. Dean
Scott Schroeder
CarbonMade is pretty good. Though, honestly, Behance Pro is the way to go. The best way you can get access to the Pro site is with your Photoshop CC subscription. For 10 bucks a month you get Photoshop, Lightroom, and Behance Pro. Not too shabby. As far as your resume, you can do that with LinkedIn and hook Behance into that.
heni30
The "si3d.wordpress.com" website I have with the wordpress name is completely free - they do the hosting. No additional costs.
notamondayfan
The "si3d.wordpress.com" website I have with the wordpress name is completely free - they do the hosting. No additional costs. Image is everything, and what does it say to your clients if you don't want to invest a tiny amount on a nice domain name?
heni30
Yes, I totally agree. That was quickly put together and was not meant as my official website. I think I've sent 2 people over to it. I was just responding to the OP's requirements of free/cheap. And I don't think .wordpress is as bad as "BigDaddysHotWebsites.com.
