hkahk
Hi there, I'm about to buy a new monitor but I'm not quite sure which one to pick. Lately I found this monster: LG 34UM95, almost 4K, plenty of space, integrated calibration, nice looking. Is not the best monitor out there but surely one of the best option for about 800€ and a great alternative to dual display setup. Or you think it's better to go for a: Dell U2713H or the Asus PA279Q. Thanks for comments!
RyderSK
Very exotic choice, lot's of positive reviews, would definitely love to see it in life :- ). Asus PA279Q is superior to U2713H in many ways, but the price-tag is almost obscene for mainstream brand 27". I considered it before simply paying 200 euro more and just went for U3014. No advice, but if you find the LG somewhere, write how it feels ;- )
stefanostrika
I'm using the new LG since june and all I've to say about it is already posted by the OP. Here are a couple pictures and a full res screenshot(edit, the screenshot have been resized, for the full res check this http://forum.vrayforc4d.com/threads/4k-monitors.16060/#post-118872 ): Edited August 25, 2014 by stefanostrika
numerobis
I think the LG looks like a good display for its price. But Compared to a WQHD 27" it's only 880pix wider, resulting in only ~35% more pixels (space). I'm waiting for the NEC MultiSync PA322UHD with 4096x2160 (140% more pixels than WQHD) to be released in November - hoping that i don't fall over when they announce the price tag http://www.nec-display-solutions.com/p/uhd/en/4kuhd.xhtml Although i would like to see some 4K 34" display instead of 32"... hopefully there will be some more good alternatives in the next months. RyderSK
Where did the post with photography of office go ? Was here just hour ago... 34" must be impressive, and quite overkill for most. I wouldn't mind if my 30" 16:10 was wider...but taller..not sure. The 31.5" seems ideal to me. Interesting the NEC offers 4096px, quite practical for those who need that for cinematic stuff. Hope it can go 'hard' to 3840px otherwise I already start to see some compatibility problems. I guess the price will be 4k, but let's see :- )
stefanostrika
Where did the post with photography of office go ? Was here just hour ago... I've edited my post and added a link to another forum but apparently now I've to wait for a moderator to check my post before it become available again. If needed I can upload the pictures again when I'll be back to office.

hkahk
Re upload the pictures of the monitor. nice ;-) So what do you think about the monitor so far?
stefanostrika
Good monitor for the price. Very useful for some programs that can benefit from lot of space and large format, of course is useless when you are just reading emails or browsing the web. It take some time to get used to it and you need to rethink many softwares interfaces to get the best out of it. Overall I'm happy with my purchase, I'll look at 4K when software and hardware will be more mature and when price will be cheaper.
