mikeford
I'm sure people are sick of these posts now, i've been through plenty myself to try work out what is best for my line of work but a little help would be much appreciated. I currently use sketchup with vray but i'm starting to use 3ds max more to do my visuals and i'm now looking to upgrade my computer at work. We are restricted to dell mostly so after a bit of searching around have put together a package I think would be suitable. Anyone who uses 3ds Max & vray regularly, would this be a suitable platform to work with.. - Base - Dell Precision T5610 CTO Base - Processor - Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2650 v2 (Eight Core HT, 2.6 GHz Turbo, 20 MB) - Operating System - Windows 7 Professional (64Bit Windows 8.1 License, Media) English, French, German, Dutch, Italian - Memory - 32GB (4x8GB) 1866MHz DDR3 ECC RDIMM - Video Card - 3 GB NVIDIA® Quadro® K4000 (2DP & 1DVI-I) (2DP-DVI & 1DVI-VGA adapter) - Hard Drive - 512GB 2.5inch SATA Solid State Drive - Ctl 1st - Integrated Intel AHCI chipset SATA controller (2 x 6Gb/s, 4 x 3.0Gb/s) - SW RAID 0/1/5/10 - Internal Hard Drive RAID Configuration - C3 SATA / SSD 2.5 Inch, 1-2 Hard Drives Any help or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Chris MacDonald
That's pretty much my setup at the office, except you've got a more up-to-date CPU and more RAM. Works wonders for me.
