SgWRX
am i understanding this properly in mentalray? Motion blur 1 is set in the render setup, under the "renderer" tab and "camera effects". This motion blur is typically set to blur all objects and is due to camera panning or moving around. Motion blur 2 is set in the camera properties and is used if you have a still camera but an object that moves quickly in front of the camera. this is typically used on a per-object basis by setting the properties within the object to be affected by motion blur. thanks,
SgWRX
i got it. found it in 2015 max help files, what the help file refers to as "image motion blur" is in fact what i call camera motion blur. there's also a few others. "motion blur rendering effect", "multi-pass rendering effect", "scene motion blur" are some of the others.
