I think your use of depth of field is causing the people to stand out more than they should. The lighting in the first image seems strange, the wooden object seems to be getting a lot of light but there's no light source and the ceiling is dark. The lights inside it are totally black yet there casting light on the table, chairs and floor. The people are very bright considering the overall darkness of the space which might also be what's making them stand out. The second image's lighting seems more balanced overall but the people are still too clear and too bright. The dark carpet is also bothering me, I think it's just the color it's too dark for such a dark space.

Some of the framing needs help. You have a lot of objects getting cut off at the edges in ways that you want to avoid. It's okay to have an object partially off screen, but you need to do it right. The shot with the lady at the desk, there is this odd bulb of white in the lower frame.

The coffee drinking guy seems out of place. Maybe it's his pose, maybe it's him. Maybe it seems like he's wanting to hit on the girl but is taking a sip of joe to mull things over.

The lady at the computer desk is losing her hand into the desk. She has a bright highlight on her knuckles and that is blending in with the super white desk. It's hard for the eye to tell where her hand stops. Also, her arm on the non-phone hand seems odd. It just seems too thin possibly?

And yes, ditch the depth of field. It is a privilege, not a right. In the shot looking out the window, you have a strong depth falloff to where the guy a few feet from the lens is getting blurred, but the buildings outside the window a long distance away are crystal clear.
