Graphite
Hey All, I was trying to create shapes from shadow casts in Vray, but to no avail. (IE. placing a flat tree shaped object next to a light to cast a tree shaped shadow on a wall.) Is this even possible? Or would I be better off trying another method? If so, what would be the best way to go about this? Regards, Nolan
John Dollus
Sounds like you are looking for a gobo effect? Use a standard light, toss the image in the projector map slot and change the shadows to vrayshadows. Is that what you are after?
Graphite
Thanks John, That was actually going to be my next option. The Image attached is pretty much what i'm trying to do.
carloscristerna
It all depends on the size of you vray light, here is a sample of a small 1cm light projecting on a 10mx10m back. If you think about it you need to replicate the light source, a light bulb even a modern one is a very small light source, the bigger you make it the less intense it needs to be but the more diffuse it will be. the projection method works also and gives you some more control. cheers. John Dollus
Carlos, are you going to be in Dallas later this month for the architectural illustration conference? It would be great to catch up since San Fran.
