argie_uk
Hi all, I am trying to install the RPC Photoshop plugin without success. Anybody else had trouble installing it? It gets part way through and then an error about writing API files crops up. I am using Photoshop CS even though the plug-in asks whether you are using version 5.5,6 or 7. I assume it would work with CS also? Any help appreciated. Just for info, I am logged on as administrator with full access rights, using XP Pro. Many thanks. bigcahunak
I had a similar problem in the past. I emailed archvision support, and they replied with alternative files and an explenation how to manually install them. Post your email, or email it to me, and I'll forward you the email I got from them.
Tim Nelson
Yea, I remember I had a problem with it at first too. I would definitely take bigcahunak up on his offer
Jim Mann
I'll forward you the email I got from them. Any chance of posting that e-mail as a reply here? I have never managed to get it to work with CS so have to keep a copy v7 on my system too. Jim
bigcahunak
Good idea, Jim BTW: my problem was with PS7. I emailed argie_uk this same file a few days ago. Never heard from him to know if it helped or not. Here is the explaination that came with it: "This is an issue we are working to resolve. But in the mean time, I have sent you the Photoshop files with this email. You will need to place the RPCautomate.8li in [Adobe Installation directory]\Plug-ins\Adobe Photoshop Only\Automate\ directory. Then the other files will go into the root Photoshop directory. You will need to edit the RPCautomate.ini file to point to a directory with RPC Content in it." Good luck, y'all
