mario22582
Guys, I'm having issues with the way vray is rendering glass. This is an exterior scene (architectural). I'm using a very basic glass material on all my windows. The problem is that anything that is behind a window gets extremely distorted. I even tried starting a new clean file/scene and I'm still having the same problem. What am I doing wrong here?
braddewald
You may have better luck posting this in the Vray forum. Check that the thickness of your glass is a realistic size. If anything, you can just lower the IOR closer to 1.0 to remove that distortion.
Francisco Penaloza
Yes IOR is the key, and as many people never use it, you can have different values for Reflection and refraction. But to be honest is looks like a mesh problem to me, the glass seems to be doing exactly what it should. where you got those glass panel from? try modeling a simple narrow box in Max, as glass panel then apply the same glass material, it should work fine. If you are working in REVIT import or sketchup or Rhino, try to apply a Normal modifier to those glass panels, maybe twice and see how it goes.
