Tsukiyono
For a little bit now i have been looking to get a student version of AutoCAD as i loved using it back in HS. While here recently i have started to get back into the idea that i may want to do some architectural work, but i will be doing it for Games and all. Now i am looking at this because this would allow me to be more accurate with my models, and overall, would make me a better modeller at end. I was recommended by someone who is actually into schoo to be an architect to Architectural Desktop, telling me that it was more powerful the Autocad is. As i am unsure, i am curious as to what program you all would recommend? I have checked the student prices on both and they are the same. And in the end i know it comes down to which one i am most comfortable with, but since i have only touched on Autocad... back in 2000i... i am still new so i dont think a transition would be that difficult to do. Currently i am leaning more towards Architectural Desktop.
argie_uk
HI, If you are unsure, I would get the ADT, as it IS AutoCAD with extra functionality, whether you use the ADT extras is then up to you. Richard
Tsukiyono
Ok.. Thanks. That was the way i was leaning but i didnt realise it was just autocad with extra features. im thinking then i may as well get the ADT then, as it may or may not help, but if it doesnt, its still autocad. Thanks again.

Tsukiyono
The reason i choose AutoCAD is because i had a little work with it before, and i have talked to a couple of people who work in the field in the area and the place i wouldl ike to try to get an internship at in the future (try at least) all use for the most part Autocad and 3ds. (3ds i already have a bit of familiarity with)
