cagilseker
Hi all, Architect girfriend's new job asked her the specs of her new machine and they prefer it to be under $2500 (yeah I know it is now enough for a really good one, so some corners had to be cut). I am trying to help her, but my last build was years ago and I am not an architect. So, I've been researching for a while to come up with a list. It is given as a pcpartpicker link at the end but the highlights are: i7-5820K 6 Core Gigabyte GA-X99-UD4 G.Skill 32GB RAM EVGA GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX Here are some details: It will be primarily used for Revit, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD and 3DS Max. Two or three of them can be running at the same time. Smooth viewport navigation is aimed for small to medium-scale projects It will be used for both modeling and rendering; although rendering performance is less important than viewport performance (additional nodes can be added later) It would be great if we can get a ~4x better render and ~2x better viewport performance compared to her current machine (which is i7 2600K, 8GB, GTX 560) I've added 2x 1920x1080 monitors but do you think one 3840x1080 monitor would be better? Do those 3D programs handle these resolutions well enough? Current list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/madchuckle/saved/Zw2j4D Any pointers and feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!
