Corey Beaulieu
Does anyone know if there is a workaround to the clipping plane on the Physical camera that would allow me to clip the foreground, but reach the extents of the file rather than set a far distance? I have a situation where I need to clip the foreground and the background is so far away that the max far value does not include my whole scene. Rendering twice is not an option nor is cheating the background closer. Its a real world simulation for an Arch-Film and I am matching footage so this is a special case. I have a fall back plan, but I was hoping someone knew a way around. Thanks.
Tommy L
depenmding on the conplexity of your geometry, you could use a slice plane? A volume render? Cant remember the terminology, you use it for moving objects/GI...
Corey Beaulieu
hmmm.... not bad ideas. Thanks. I'll look into it. I've used the sphere fade on animated people before so maybe that could work.
Chris MacDonald
I've not used it, but VRay 3 comes with a "vray clipper". http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAY3/VRayClipper
Stephen Thomas
Was just about to suggest that. It does work, and quite flexible being able to orient as you wish independent from camera.
