Dome or plane lights

Hi,

Need help!

 

What lights will give me a more realistic result...and also what light should be used where, I mean dome lights works better for?? and plane light works better for??

 

Should I use both?

We usually only use a HDRI dome light to light the exterior of a scene. Then we add all the lights that would really be in the room. Mostly IES lights for all spotlight type lights and and vray lights for area type lights.

 

This can amount to quite a lot of lights but it looks good, but renders a "little" longer.
