branskyj
Hi all, I have been pre- calculating the Light Cache and Irradiance Map in my animation for the past 1 day, I have all the files (LC and IM) saved and I just realized I have to change the curtains material to a new one. The curtains are animated (subtle movement) as well as the camera (panning from side to side). Can I change the curtains material and just use the existing LC and IM files to render the animation or do I have to re-render the .vrmap and .vrlmap files from scratch? And while at it- is the answer to the above question dependant on whether the object, subject to change, moving or not? Thanks guys.
Chris MacDonald
That should be fine, but the GI will still contain old colours, so if there was a significant amount of colour bleed/bounced light from the curtains it might be quite noticable, for example the curtain was bright red but is now white; the walls might pick up a red hue even though the curtain renders white.
