geokasot
Actually this is the best way to train and improve your rendering skills. There is no easy way.The "trial and error" method is the only way!!
Nicolai Bongard
If there is something of known proportions/scale in the image, use that as a base for camera matching and model the rest of the room from that. Also try to right click your photo, go to properties then details and see if there are some info about the camera settings used there, then try to match that in your own camera settings. nodar1978
Thank you Nicolai, I'll try to do like that. I tried to put photo in MAX windows as a background image in perspective view and then build wals and rest on it, but seems a wrong direction to go. so will try again Thanks Nodar
j_forrester
Nodar, Try this. Model one object you know the exact size first and then tweak it from there. Takes a bit of time to get it very close, but does get you most of the way there. Max 2014+ needed.

yp
I think the perspective match is the right way to go, too. As I'm still on Max 2013 I don't have access to that tool, but Sketchup uses more or less the same technique, even though it might be still a bit easier. Its possible to use the free version and open the SKP file perfectly in Max, keeping the camera position. The are some tips on the web, check this http://cgi.tutsplus.com/tutorials/an-archiviz-workflow-overview-in-3ds-max-sketchup-and-digital-fusion--cg-2654 as its a good one, covering a lot. What I found helpful is to have a reference object in the photo, like a measuring rule at a straight edge at a corner or the box of 1x1x1 as seen on the picture. Happy matching. PS: Camera match does not work properly on cropped or straightened images.
