greigyoung
Hi Im currently using VRay plugin for SketchUp Pro. I know PNG is lossless and I try to use this but when I save my render the HDRI sky disappears. If I save as a JPeg it remains. Am I doing something wrong? Nicolai Bongard
I come from max so i do not know if you have the option in sketchup, but if you disable alpha/transparency in your png settings, you should get the sky visible again.
greigyoung
Thank you for the reply. Im relatively new to this, how do I disable alpha/transparency?
Nicolai Bongard
As i said i am not familiar with Sketchup, but when i save images from max there is a setup button on the save menu (where you type in your file name and select .png from a dropdown menu). In the settings menu i disable the alpha/transparency with a checkbox. Try to look for something similar.
M V
By default, saving to PNG will always apply the Alpha. Save to TIFF or EXR if you want to see the BG. Alternatively, just remove the alpha channel from your VFB Channels if you dont want this in the future.
