MarcellusW
I am interested in putting time into learning/purchasing one of the scatter plugins for 3ds Max. I've seen Forestpack, Multiscatter, and e-on's version too. Which of these is these is the best for the price? Thanks for your advice. Corey Beaulieu
I like Forest Pack. It's flexible enough and gives you a lot of possibilities. My only advice using it is that if you are using both tall and short geometry within one node, the short gets lost in the tall. These things need to be placed separately even if they are using the same spline/surface.
Amen
I like forestpack a lot. Once you get to know it, it becomes very easy to use and it can do a lot.
Chris MacDonald
Forest Pro wins all day, every day. It has both more features and better/more frequent support than Multiscatter, and they guys on their forums are brilliant too if you ever need help. Can't recommend it highly enough. The only thing that I wish is that they'd remove the "upper limit" on how many objects can be scattered; don't get me wrong, it is a lot, something to the tune of 100 million; but if I want to push it further and potentially crash the scene surely that should be my call? notamondayfan
Again Forest Pro for me too. Can be a little complicated, but the tutorials and forums are spot on. It's a shame I only really use it for rugs now-a-days!
