nickcolavita
I have currently hit a wall. And I'm sure others have hit a similar one at one point or another in their Arch/Viz career. I am trying to integrate my 3D ground into my scene/background plate realistically and in a believable fashion. I have a base texture for the ground but I need to start implementing grass. My thoughts are Vray proxy's to make it easier on my system. Any kind of advice as to how to go about this would be greatly appreciated.
Matt McDonald
Peter Guthrie wrote the tutorial that many seemed to follow. Google it, and you'll figure out how to make your grass patches. Due to your terrain, distributing them might be a pain. Forest pack pro can do it but you'll have to pay for a license. The crowd tool can do it or you can mess around with p-flow. nickcolavita
Thanks a lot. I actually just used the paint tool in Max with random orientation and messed with the spacing. Seemed to scatter it well. I'll show an update soon.
Graphite
If I may; The ground is a bit smooth. It looks like the house is sitting on one big river rock. Try roughing it up a bit. Also; The light reflecting off the wood on the second level is too yellow for the ambient light the sky would produce. Keep up the great work.
