Tommy L
I have a node: i7 2600k MB: gigabyte x79 and I want to drop this in: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500361&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Desktop+Graphics+Cards-_-N82E16814500361&gclid=CjwKEAiA2JqkBRDshIOY_9eMghkSJABvNd1QVj3dpgMVDlXM_LbWz4fVMLwSdGWbkW-UcZySrtGnzBoCfMbw_wcB doesnt boot with the graphics card installed. Is it a ram speed issue?
Dimitris Tolios
Could be a PSU issue. Other than that, are you sure the card is seated properly in the PCIe slot? Have you tried more than one PCIe slot? If yes, are both PCI-E power cables properly connected from the PSU to the card? If it is a modular PSU, are both ends secured? Both in the PSU and card side? Does your mobo "beep" or have a troubleshooting LED panel on? If so, the manual could say what the "beeping" or LED code pattern given is referring to something specific going wrong. Sometimes we move around other power connectors and/or even RAM sticks get out of plumb when we "wrestle" big components in a case, so make sure everything is seated properly where it should be. Oh, and probably not a X79 board or not a 2600K. Those don't work together
Tommy L
ah, you are right sir. gigabyte h67a with 2600k. Does DDR5 ram on the GPU mess with the MB's chi?
Dimitris Tolios
Not really, the motherboard is not aware of what kind of RAM the discrete GPU card is using. Most common issues are: * Not proper seating in the slot * Not enough power from the PSU * Faulty DVI/DP/HDMI or whatever cable Then of course are chances of a faulty GPU, or any other component.
