Jeff Mottle
Hey Everyone, The guys at Npower have created a special Tutorial for the CGarchitect.com community to show what types of work can be done with the new Power Booleans plugin. The tutorial links can be found below as well as the latest press release here: http://www.npowersoftware.com/pressreleases/PressReleasePowerBooleans30.htm Tutorial Links: www.npowerdetroit.com/tutorials/Max/AdvTutorials/PBAdvacedTut1.wmv www.npowerdetroit.com/tutorials/Max/AdvTutorials/PBArchTut.zip http://www.npowersoftware.com How many people are using this plugin now and what are your thoughts? Personally I've used it a number of times on past projects, but if anyone else has feel free to post your experiences.
Npower
Jeff, Thanks for your support. I just wanted to let everyone know to check out the tutorial before you hit the Press release. Please let me know what you think. This is the first architectural demo I have ever made and it was a blast. Hey, if there is something more you want to see just let me know. Oh, and one more thing if you have any problems with viewing the file let me know, this is a new server.
DapperDanJelly
Hi, I've tried Npower Boolean v2 and I must say that the tryout was a bit frustrating : few functions enabled plus a quite bizarre display under Nvidia Maxtreme (sometimes the color change, the model appears only in subobject mode ...). I will definitly need this kind of tool and also the powerTranslator but not if the display still the same with the Maxtreme driver. Maybe it's because of the trial version, I don't know but I can download a trial v3 and check the display and send some pics ? Thanks a lot. gcrocker
Hey DapperDanJelly, We did fix that Maxtreme driver problem a while back. We had to go and buy a $600 QUADRO card, but the good news is that it took only about 10 minutes to figure out the problem once we had the driver installed. I now run Maxtreme on my main development machine. Gary Crocker, nPower Software

Power Solids/Translators/Booleans for MAX / VIZ is the bundle I will probably purchase next year (2005). I just want to first play with max 7 poly. new features before. I haven't purchase it at this time, I'm still using Max6 and the free polygon tools. Thanks for replying
