erkutacar
im very conflicted between two cpus. xeon e5-2697v3 and e5-2699v3. 97 is 2.6ghz and 14 cores. 99 is 2.3ghz and 18 cores. but for some reason 97 is 1000usd more expensive. they both have the same architecture. 99 has more cache, rest of the specs r identical. why is 97 more expensive? and what would the performance difference be? numerobis
e5-2697v3: 14x3.1Ghz=43.4GHz and 3.6GHz single core turbo e5-2699v3: 18x2.8GHz=50,4GHz and also 3.6GHz single core turbo I don't know where you found the 2699 v3 for $1000 less, but if this is really true, then you should go for it... Normally the 2699 v3 is the top dog and intel always lets you pay for this. The 2699 v3 normally costs $4115 and the 2697 v3 "only" $2702.
