vray transparent material, do not render backfaces and colliding mesh help

Hi i have a dilemma regarding a character render. the character is made of water however its only supposed to be semi transparent, theres a falloff in the main materials refraction so hes only transparent around the sides. the eyeballs are quite large but you only partially see the mesh.

his mouth interior and eyes are showing through, when he blinks obviously you will see the eyeball mesh and his pupils through the blue material.

I need to get around this so that you only see the mesh inside his mouth when its open and not through his transparency and the same for the eyes. i only want to see the exposed mesh of his eyes, is this possible to do without having to make several renders and comping later, thanks in advance.

Hi,

Under Vray properties -> untick visible in refractions for the mouth and eyeballs that way they won't show up inside the water.

Although doing this would also mean the eyeball would disappear when seeing through the glasses,

So another idea would be to render out the mouth and the eyeballs as another pass and composite at the end.

actually i tried it in another scene and it did work thanks, now to figure out why it wont work in my current scene.

The only problem is the mouth, this is part of the body, its setup with material IDs so im trying to find a way of doing what you suggested but through the materials

Actually I gave it a try too with a solid transparent object the visible in refraction option don't work... But I found a work around.

If you select the drop and then under the same Vray Properties set the Refraction Exclude to the mouth and eyeball then they won't show in refraction tried it and that works...
