TomD_Arch
I am playing around a bit with an image from a high end kitchen manufacturer, trying to mimic the lighting and feeling. I noticed a few trouble areas with how the shadow from the window mullions is appearing on the smooth, reflective cabinet surface on the far left side. The shadow is faint, which I would expect as they are very thin mullions, however the shadow itself is very pixelated. I've played around with the Global Illumination settings and the material. Does anyone have some advice for how I might clean this up?

Francisco Penaloza
I don't see pixelation, I see low shadow samples also, sometimes the bump make shadows a little funky but in this case it seems to be shadows samples.
ryannelson
I'm not familiar with mental ray, but yeah I'd say shadow subdivision. Can you use render elements in mental ray? that way you can see exactly what is contributing to the image and start tweaking there.
Stephen Thomas
If you're using mental ray sun then shadow subdivisions setting is in there. Also the scale of the bump on that concrete wall looks way too big.
