I tried experimenting with the z-depth pass, and desaturating a little bit. Constructive criticism welcome
Zdravko Barisic
I would rather see some trees and vegetation, in the middle of image, where your yellowish wall is. But, if this is not project just for yourself, it could not be changed...just my 2cc... Can you try with some direct Sun from the right side of image? With bright shadows, clean sky? To achieve that about 1/3 of pool is covered with shadow of tha wall. Again, just my 2cc.
MarcellusW
Thanks for your 2cc! I agree, the wall ends up being the focus, but it is a pretty plain wall there. It needs a shrine or a trellis there with vines to make it pop as a centerpiece. When you say clean sky, what do you mean?
Zdravko Barisic
^ Perhaps, "clear"! Its my fault, I mean with shiny Sun, with bright shadows and direct light, to get sharper image, not cloudy sky with smoothy shadows...Cheers!
MarcellusW
OK, a new shot with more going on at the focus. Cant really change the light in this scene as it is on the northern side of the building. Can blame the design. I need to get another skydome too. Amen
About the light, why not have the sun be more midday and from above? As far as I can tell, your modelling on the building and right wall look really good. But the background really does not seem right. To blurry and the leaves seem to have the wrong scale. The saturation of the background vegetation should more saturated - more like the grass in the pond. The wall in the Background should needs a little bit more detail on the top border. You would have a a slim row of stones to cover the rest.
