alessandro.eu
Hi, I'm working in a scene (1.157.000 polys) on a pretty decent machine (3930K+32Gb Ram+ k4000 + GTX Balck Titan). I think that the scene itself is not that complex, in the viewports workflow is really fluid but somehow handle this scene is frustrating: - It takes up to 6 minutes just to open - After a render in Vray I have to wait more than a minute to continue as Max simply freezes and I can't do anything - Even the material editor is slow, for every change I make to the materal I have to wait few seconds because Max is thinking again Do you think is normal or I missing something?? thank you! Stephen Thomas
Usually this type of delay is caused by max searching for missing texture maps. Check your asset tracking and add correct paths for any missing files.
alessandro.eu
Ok, made few tests...seems that is Nitrous that gives problems, in Direct3D everything works fine. Anyone had problems with Nitrous? I would be happy to make it working...

As I wrote it seems is a driver issue but I can't belive I can't make it working
Devin Johnston
3d Studio is very picky when it comes to video card's. I had a Quadro 6000 and although it was on the approved video card list for Max it's performance when using Nitrous was atrocious and I had to use Driect 3D just to be able to work. It does all come down to the drivers so you'd be better off contacting the video card manufacturer and seeing if they can suggest a better driver. alessandro.eu
Hi Devin, that's really weird, I tested same scene with GTX Titan Black and quadro k4000 and had the same result...as you suggested I'll try to contact NVIDIA to figure it out. thanks Ale
