1.5GB and 3GB diffrence in card

If I'm not mistaken, unless you're doing GPU real time rendering you won't really notice much of a difference I'm afraid

 

these gb's are texure memory! I'm not sure. but i know gpu rendering uses cuda core and processor of the card also cpu processor.

In this particular case, i believe that two card does not have any performance diffrence in iray and vray RT rendering for examle.

You have to not only be stressing your card with more than 1.5GB of assets but also reaching the point that the PCIe System RAM communication is saturated and is chocking the CPU & GPU for you to notice a difference. And the PCIe 16x bus is pretty fast, even the older 2.0 protocol that the 5xx uses.

 

With adaptive degradation algorithms keeping your fps up in 3DS / Sketchup etc, the bigger buffer might allow the card to display more information for bigger models before the display switches to a simpler display mode automatically, but again, you need pretty heavy models to get the graphic engine to this point, so you might not even notice it if your normal practice doesn't get you there, and with heavy models often the simplification is due to the CPU being unable to keep up fetching data & making frame update calls for the GPU, and not the GPU running out of memory that leads to this, so it is hard to tell what does what.

 

As for VRay RT GPU / Octane etc, again, there is no speed difference between identical cards with different buffer capacity.

Only getting beyond the available buffer of your GPU would bring up an error or even crash of the plugin, allowing the 3GB version to progressively render more complex scenes than the 1.5GB model, but not at higher speeds.
