philippelamoureux
Epic games announced a new development fund of 5,000,000$, that they plan to give in 5k to 50k grants to any project using Unreal Engine 4. This includes games, of course, but also Architectural visualization. I think we've seen interesting concepts in arch viz using UE4. Thinking about realtime and mostly VR. The best part, these grants have no strings attached, no contract, you are free to spend the money as you wish. Could be to buy hardware to push your project, etc. Epic doesn't even take royalties on arch viz projects you might sell to your clients! Hopefully this will motivate some people to push the boundaries even further and truly show us what the engine is capable!!! Here's the official announcement on stream by Epic's founder Tim Sweeney http://www.twitch.tv/unrealengine/b/626939240 And the official page. They're already taking submissions but they said it will most likely take a year to spend the whole 5,000,000. https://www.unrealengine.com/unrealdevgrants Edited February 20, 2015 by philippelamoureux

philippelamoureux
Make one badass interactive arch viz prototype and take the year off! Sounds like a deal to me hehe! I would probably spend the cash on hardware and the development of my studio if I was able to get a grant! Small render farm to bake my lightmaps faster, best monitors and gpus on the market haha! notamondayfan
For the unreal dev site ..... tell us about your project. Send us videos, links, and any other info you think will help us see why you and your project are awesome. Remember, things in the design or idea phase are still too early, and working prototypes are best.
