hoseinasadi
Hi. Ive been wondering whats the use of falloff map in the reflections color slot? when and how do we use this map? In some tutorial I see people use this map in the reflections color slot to push the reflections to the edges of the object. Some insight would be great. Stephen Thomas
You should be using falloff in most, if not all your materials if you are seeking realistic reflections. In Vray material if you have fresnel box ticked then falloff is already applied (albeit a quick and dirty one) so no need. But the falloff map itself gives you much more control over different types of falloff, with the ability to use curves, introduce colour etc.

Is there any good resource for learning and practicing this falloff feature?
Stephen Thomas
If you want to see how far you can push it then Grant Warwick's tutorials are great: https://vimeo.com/user24883748 There are plenty of more basic explanations out there too I'm sure.
