EXR save and open problem + few questions about vray passes and composing them in PS

Hi,

1. I have a problem with opening EXR format. The file does open in Photoshop, it ask if I want to change the color profile, but after that, layers are there, but looking weird. (attachment) I already have a PROexr 15 days trial plugin but looks like sthg is wrong here. Is this a matter of wrong saving from Vray, or photoshop, or..?

While saving I used - half float 16bit/ch, type RGBA and same parameters on each pass.

All layers (passes from Vray) are there, but looking strange.

Right picture it's only the GI layer as an example.

The left is the way it looks after opening.

2. Let's say that my goal is to be able to tweak separate lights on the final render in PS so that I could turn one of them off (and not to have shadows that this light produces).

What render passes will be enough to be able to do this?

I presume I need Vraydiffuse, 3xVraySelect (I have three lights), VrayRawGi and..? VrayRawLight? - this shows all shadows from every light in one layer..it's useless here. Anything else? (I don't have any reflections and reflecting materials in the scene)

3. Is there any rule saying what blend mode I should use to compose them?

I saw on tutorials that some of them are blended in 'screen mode', some of them in 'linear dodge. Which one should I use on each layer then ?

thanks for all suggestions
