dirkdriehuijzen
Hello everyone, I've been working with vray for a year now, I'm a big fan ! Today my new PC arrived, I got a GTX titan graphics card which I thought would be a lot better at GPU rendering than my previous laptop card. sadly it's taking like 20 seconds before it even starts rendering (waiting for image data). I was wondering if the videocard was at the source of the problem so I checked if Iray and octane had the same problem. Shockingly they didn't, they update instantly. Does anyone know a fix for this ?
philippelamoureux
It's probably vrayRT. I used my gtx 670 with octane render and it was instant too!
deadkaiser
you did set your GPU as the render i'm not big on vrayRT but i'm fairly certain that that's required. Because you should see notable improvements. maybe to test it try with a complex scene... say a field of grass if you see no difference in render times somethings going rather wrong... dirkdriehuijzen
Yes, I've set the engine type on CUDA mode, if that is what you mean ? I've tested this on small and complex scenes, on both scenes iray and octane are a lot faster.
dirkdriehuijzen
I think I know what the problem was. When I disabled Displacement and resize textures it started to update much faster. Still not as fast as Octane though ...
