ryanmagraw
I'm having an issue getting 3ds Max to display a back plate properly in 3ds max. This video takes you through the steps I am taking to set up the scene and then shows you the problem I am having. Please leave any comments if you spot something I'm doing wrong. Thanks! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySVqcobZOiw&feature=youtu.be
ryanmagraw
So it turns out it was a driver issue in 3ds Max. Under Preference Settings I changed the display driver from Nitrous to Direct3D and that fixed the problem.
TomasEsperanza
Ahh, yes I've encountered this before. I can't remember what I did about it, but likely would have tried the drivers eventually. It seems quite a fundamental thing for the driver to be able to achieve accurately, and ought to sorted - I'd imagine this type of bug is a source of embarrassment for Autodesk?! ... apparently not! - go figure. Glad you got it sorted - now you get on with some actual work
