mikejohnson4
So Im rendering an interior scene with vray in c4d and even though i have rendered many stills on the same scene this one is taking 20 hours to render and the screen on the last vray prepass becomes black (exept lights) sth i see first time. Note the same scene took about 20 mins to render in other renders... Is it because I added too many materials and reflections?? Pc: amd 6core 3.9 cpu 8gb ddr3 ram 4gb ddr3 gpu Scene: 1300x900 GI very fast About 20 materials
Francisco Penaloza
Hard to tell, it can be extra geometry that you add to your scene, that has some strange material values, or some non compatible material, or too many reflections ray over each other. You can try debugging, applying a flat material to the whole scene and render, or turn off objects and do test render to find out what material or object is the one causing the extreme rendering delay. Usually when you have a material with interpolation activated on the sampling, V Ray will make the image dark in the last pass of Irr. Nothing wrong with that, but interpolation may cause non accurate reflections, and should not be used in animation.
