joshuahovey
Hi, I'm trying to create a realistic standing seam zinc material. The base metal texture seems to be working ok for me so far, but i'm struggling to give it depth - for instance the warping/ distortion you see in the lower half of this photograph on the cladding. How would I create that distortion in a vray material in 3DS? Thanks.
justinallbee
Joshua, I would do this type of thing in post production. Are you a photoshop wizard? If not you could send me a link to your final render and I can show you what I would do.
jasonstewart
You can use a noise map in the bump to get the oil canning and you could use a gradient multiplied over the top to stop it from happening at the top if you want to.
Nicolai Bongard
Like Jason said; noise in the bump slot with a low value seems like the obvious way to go. However, depending on your client, they might not like it and would want it to appear "perfect".
Chris MacDonald
That is an absolute doddle. Noise procedural in the bump map slot. Done.
