philippelamoureux
If it's for vray or octane renderer, go 970, 980 or titanX. Hard to find but a gtx 780 6gb is apparently very nice for rendering. Forget Quadro, we don't really need it for rendering purposes. I don't know much about AMD but Octane render 3 will support openCL and vray already support it afaik. alexanderbong
vray does not utilize graphics card when rendering. so this choice is purely for a smooth view port performance. that being said, if you are on a tight budget, you might want to divert more of your money into CPU or other things you might have neglected. Quadro is a "pro" graphics card that is supposedly more stable and accurate. however, is it MUCH MUCH more expensive. Geforce is a "consumer" graphics card that is as powerful as Quadro for a fraction of the cost. Quadro is aimed towards multi-million dollar production studio or researchers that pays their employee a lot of money per hour. Any instability or inaccurate calculations (scientific uses) will cost them more money in the long run. For a "one-man-band" kind of use, this is obviously not the way to go. philippelamoureux
Well, I figured he would like to use Vray RT since he asked for a gpu but Alexander is right if you use vray advanced (regular) then the gpu isn't going to be used except for the viewport.
