RyderSK
This is one of the top feature requests on User Voice Than that must be one very audible minority as I can't see this being wildly useful for most. Just another nodal UI for their scripting API. Will be useful for dedicated scripters in larger teams who can speed up their workflow...but here ? Haven't seen anything much useful for me yet, but the VFX crowd does seem pleased. Perhaps I'll wait and see how layer management got re-worked, but it sounds like fix rather than feature. Physical camera is nice though,.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhVTb7plNNU Edited April 13, 2015 by RyderSK
Francisco Penaloza
well it look like rail clone in steroids to me, let us hope it work as advertised and does not break anything else in the implementation. I also believe like 40% when they claim "user ask feature" I think the most user ask feature is stability, viewport performance and backburner. Scott Schroeder
http://3dsmaxfeedback.autodesk.com/forums/80695-general-feature-requests/suggestions/1467083-ice-for-3ds-max-modifiers That's where the request comes from. This tool can have it's uses, especially in an architecture studio during the design phase. I'm excited that they implemented it and I know it will have some uses for us. The bigger question is can it knock off Rail Clone? I'm also digging the updates (finally) to xrefs. It would be cool to see MCG export into a UE4 blueprint. Maybe by the time I have my flying car. Maybe. Edited April 13, 2015 by VelvetElvis
Devin Johnston
10x faster Revit imports looks good, not sure if the design workspace will speed anything up but it's a nice idea. Here's hoping it's stable with few bugs! Any idea when it will be released?
Justin Hunt
The Revit import is still a joke though, especially with the way they have implemented the curve resolution, low res curves are just plain unacceptable.
Justin Hunt
After years of saying that Max and MaxDesign will never merge , they are merging, which is a good thing.
artmaknev
looks like a very useful tool as they show it at 0:50 and 1:25, I bet there are already some scripts available that do those things, but I can see the benefit of having nodal based custom script creation like they have it in Unreal with the blueprint. beestee
Perhaps I'll wait and see how layer management got re-worked, but it sounds like fix rather than feature. They really made it cumbersome to adjust to the Scene Manager in 2015, but I am slowly getting the hang of it. It is nice that you can have multiple scene managers open with different sorting profiles and then drag and drop between them...but still I miss the old layer manager and feel that my workflow is a bit slower because of how much I have to rely on the toolbar buttons now. The features I use most are absent in the scene manager quads or perform inconsistently. Don't know how far a fix will go in swaying my opinion of it, but I guess I will find out soon. As far as MCG being the most requested feature, it technically covers many different requests, so if you pool all requests that MCG has the potential to be used to resolve then it is probably a good percentage...but then Maxscript would also potentially resolve a good percentage of user voice features, but how user friendly is Maxscript? holgerdrechsler
Hello Benjamin, hope you read this thread entry. I have seen an old entry of you of a closed thread and there is no way to get the attached image for me. The link seems to be dead. The thread is http://forums.cgarchitect.com/68856-gravel-material-set-up-mental-ray.html and the attachment is "Capture.png". Could you provide me with a working link or send the image to me? My e-mail-adress is: info@3d-labor.de. Would be great if you can help me. Best regards, Holger (from Berlin)
