Coolhand78
Since moving to my new computer 3ds Max 2014 is constantly freezing for up to 10 secs at a time, and i mean all day long, restarting the computer has little to no bearing. There will be periods where its okay for a while (couple of hours) but it's constantly doing it. It never happened on my previous machine which used the same video card. my machine is Intel i7 5930k 3.5GHz, 32Gb RAM, NVidea GTX680... any ideas/suggestions? is the card a bit old now and would i be best to upgrade? heni30
Do you have an extra video card you can test it with? Run it with 1 stick of memory - see what happens. Just a matter of tracking down the culprit component by component.
Bruce Hart
Hey Luke Just some thoughts: Has your network setup changed (if you have one)? I'm wondering if Max is trying to look for assets on paths that don't exist anymore Does the freeze happen when doing any viewport related operations - zooming etc? Does it freeze when opening the material editor?
Coolhand78
Hi Bruce, Thanks for the repy... no the network hasn't changed. and the freeze occurs when moving around the viewport, no specific functions like zooming, just any sort of navigating in any viewport....
