does ssds plays any roles on viewport performance?

Probably not in direct way once everything has been loaded into memory. I.e, in way that would further increase framerate.

 

But it does so indirectly in other ways, when loading large textures into viewport (HDRi file,etc..) if they reside on your SSD disc, increasing load speed, eliminating any small lags and freezes that would occur otherwise and so for.

No, it shouldn't.

 

If you have a notable increase in viewport speed after installing an SSD, means your computer was struggling moving things back and forth your RAM from your storage device, which meant you needed primarily more RAM (probably much more), not a faster storage device.

 

With the current cost of a 240-256GB SSD, I think it is silly NOT to have one. It will speed up things a lot vs. any short of HDD, and be silent and more reliable while doing it.

 

For arch-viz, it depends on your workflow as Juraj says. If you are working with big local files on Revit or load up a zillion hi-rez textures & environments in 3DS from a local library, it might work wonders. If you are pulling assets or collaborating with others over a network connection, the bottleneck will most likely be your NAS/file server/network capabilities: 1Gbit connections are the norm, and typically 1/5th the speed of SATA SSDs: your apps will be launching faster locally, but if you are opening files over the network, the differences vs. a HDD based system will be negligible for launching files over LAN.
