charbroil
I am using Vray Basic, do you suggest using photometric or standard lights for interior lighting? Does it matter? And, do recommend a general strategy for laying out lights if you don't have actual locations yet? Thanks
mauarduz
hi, if the interior has windows, i would recommend that first try to emulate natural lighting coming into the room, as if it was daylight with all the houselights turned off. It is a good excercise in lighting and it gets nice results. Later you add artificial lighting once u get locations. i've never understood how photometric lighting works with vray if it does at all, and you get fine results with standard lighting and vraylights good luck
charbroil
That sounds liek a plan. How do you usually go about lighting the interior if the view is of the exterior, but you want the interior to glow through the windows?
mauarduz
i'd say same strategy first light your exterior with the environment only second light that interior with your lights of choice until you make it glow as you want third adjust the exterior intensity, say time of day, with an aditional exterior light twilight time would be a good time to practice this kind of setup hope it helps
