When i try to put a different texture on the back sheet. it textures the back of the 1st plane and not the 2nd plane . see attached images it make more sense what happening and what im trying to achieve

It is doing what you are telling it to do, you just are telling it to do the wrong thing. Make a second copy of your fabric and add the dark texture, then apply that to the inside or back piece of fabric. The front and back is just the front and back of the one piece of fabric not the finished object after it is sewn together.

cheers jason i have applied the following and it works . i understand the front and back issue now . Its worked two fabrics.
