johnpettit
3ds Max 2014 Suddenly part of the object's vertices are gone. The edges and polys can be selected, but the vertices are completely gone. I have tried the following: 1. Customize > Preferences > Viewports (Toggle vertices) 2. Detached problem area, added vertices to an edge intersection. Vertex is created but only one one edge and not the intersection. 3. Applied an Edit Poly modifier and collapsed all 4. Restarted Max and the computer 5. Changed video drivers from Direct 11 to Legacy OpenGL and the other choices 6. Increased vertex size As you can see in the screenshot, only part of the vertices are visible. I was holding Shift down and copying poly's on the same object when this happened. HOWEVER, I did this same method on another object and it is just fine. I copied polys over to the end of the object like in the screen shot and was able to weld the vertices and do any kind of manipulation as would be expected. I have never seen part of vertices disappear while the rest of the object remains visible. One last note: When I detached the section of the object, Right Clicking and choosing Object Properties says the vertices are accountable.
jasonstewart
Try hitting unhide all in the edit poly rollout? That happens to me when I hide some polys and then unide them but for some stupid reason the verts are still hidden.
johnpettit
This is exactly what had happened. I had seen suggestions elsewhere to simply "unhide all" but none were specifying the button in the edit poly rollout under vert subselection. The only unhide all I knew of was the basic unhide for objects. Thank you for your help. This is the proper solution.
