jamiemarshall
Hi everyone. Just looking for some advice on these Iray renders. I've been trying to render out a good length of animation with Iray recently, and whilst I'm able to get some alright results, they still have glaring issues. These are all modelled in Revit, exported out via the inbuilt workflow system, and bought into Max. From there I fix the lighting, maybe add a HDRI map if needed and let it run. I dont change any materials from the default Autodesk ones. In particular I was hoping someone could provide pointers in regards to sorting out the noise and speckles in the images. Currently they are set to do 2,000 iterations each time, however it still is quite grainy. I'm rather hoping its just some setting I'm forgetting to turn on, or a material issue. I have noticed a vast increase in quality and lack of speckles when i change the metal to a custom A+D material, however it still remains in the scene as a whole. https://imgur.com/a/iExRI Thanks. Chris MacDonald
I don't know a huge amount about iRay, but I do know that the default autodesk materials absolutely suck and that I wouldn't use them even if you paid me. Change them all to A&D and you'll have infinitely more control over what's going on.
